What is Vortex?

The Vortex Indicator consists of two lines that measure positive (upward) and negative (downward) trend movement.

• VI+: Measures upward price movement
• VI-: Measures downward price movement
• Crossovers: Signal trend changes

Trading Signals

• VI+ crosses above VI-: Bullish signal, enter long
• VI- crosses above VI+: Bearish signal, enter short
• Wide separation: Strong trend
• Lines close together: Weak trend or consolidation
